23 Things is a
great program. This is the first time I've done anything like it. I liked it, but feel like I just skimmed the surface of so many new technologies (for me that is). I'm afraid I won't retain it all. It was a challenge to fit it in to my schedule. I have to say, I did at least four of the weeks on my own time at home. That was my choice, in order to not feel pressured to get it done at work along with my other duties.
My blog has been lots of fun and will help me go back to some of the things to spend more time learning and getting comfortable with some of the things we looked at.
My favorites - in addition to blogging - the avatar, of course.
Also, I'm very excited about doing more with wikis both at work and for my bird club.
YouTube is great fun to explore and I see possibilities for library programming to expand some of our offerings virtually to make it more accessible to more people. I definitely see this as something we may want to do for Teen programming with teens.
Maybe I'll start using Netlibrary, Recorded Books videos and Overdrive (got to get a mp3 player though) myself. That would help me help customers more.
I need to remember to visit Merlin on a regular basis - it's a wonderful resource.
Finally, I need to take all my post-it notes of new membership logins and passwords and create a list I won't lose.:)
Thanks for the opportunity, Nini and thanks to Jennifer Ranck for all your support. Also, thanks to Jessica, Michelle, Jeri, Ann and others who helped the rest of us do our 23 Things!
